Are you interested in working with pre-service teachers?  Are you motivated to change the way social studies is taught in K-12 schools?  Our Ph.D. program emphasizes mentoring future faculty and others who are dedicated to social studies teacher education and revolutionizing the teaching of social studies.  We particularly focus on issues of equity and innovation.  Our doctoral students complete a rigorous training that includes:

- Opportunities to conduct research alongside nationally known faculty

- Hands-on work with pre-service teachers including teaching classes and supervising student teachers

- Global experiences through our partnerships abroad
