First Year

The first year experience (Junior Year), will be an introductory year to the field of education.   In the Fall semester, students will take a variety of education courses that will broaden their knowledge on educational philosophy & pedagogy, educational psychology, the use of technology in education. In the Spring semester, students will continue to enhance their basic knowledge by taking courses related to exceptionality/ special education & classroom and behavior management.

Along with these introductory education courses, Social Studies Education students will continue to take courses in History, Geography, economics, political science, sociology or psychology, in order to fulfill the required Subject Area credit hours.
